Subject:- Setting up of National Mission for Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan.
Government of India vide Resolution No. F.2 - 4/2000 - Desk(EE) dated 2nd January, 2001 and 26th August, 2003 set up the National Mission for Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan under the Chairmanship of the Prime Minister.
2. The Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan National Mission has a Governing Council and an Executive Committee.
3. The Governing Council will comprise of the following : -

5. The Chairman of Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan National Mission may additionally, invite to the meeting of the Councils, a s special invitee, such person as may be seen necessary. The Members of the Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan National Mission will hold office for a term of two years and will be eligible for re-nomination.
Powers of the Council
The Council shall be the apex policy planning body for elementary
education in
India
. Within the
Budget provision
approved by Parliament, the Council shall have full autonomy for their
utilization.

The Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan National Mission will have an Executive

Powers of the Executive Committee
The Executive Committee shall carry out all the functions of the
Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan National
Mission in accordance with the policy and guidelines laid down by the
Council.
The Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan National Mission
shall have the power to frame its own rules and
procedures. It shall meet at
least once in six months at such time and places as may be fixed by
the Chairman.
